The LUM study –"Quality of Life and the Environment" – is a large-scale scientific study in which people across Germany are surveyed about their lives and attitudes, for example regarding housing, leisure, and health. The study is a collaborative project between the University of Leipzig, the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau, and the LMU Munich, and is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).

The LUM study examines quality of life and perceptions of the environment in Germany, highlighting various areas of life – from housing, leisure, and health to the environment. The aim is to gain deeper insights into the concerns, wishes, and future expectations of people in Germany and to use these to derive concrete findings on how quality of life in Germany is developing.
